Road safety patrol programs exist in school throughout the world. In addition to providing safe passage for their fellow students, the students who participate in the Road Safety Patrol develop important qualities and personal skills, including leadership and a sense of social responsibility.

The RSP (ROAD SAFETY PATROL is involved in the educational aspect of Road Safety. The RSP scheme commenced way back in 1951, and was flagged off from the New Bharda High School at Fort. The Road Safety Patrol unit in Coimbatore was restarted in the year 2008 and has a strength of more than 15 school children actively participating in activities in and around their schools in the morning and in the evening during school open and close hours.
